1992 BMW 525iT Silver/Blue (Basketcase)

Yes, I know I said that most of the finds I am going to post are not going to be so local to me, but this is too good for me not to share. I wish I had the extra space for a project build. A rather not-so-common Silver E34 touring with Blue vinyl interior - or the so called Value package. I know what you are thinking, it is a little bit rough around the edges, but you gotta see the potential.

The seller has done some decent work on it. A quick run to the pick-n-pull should get you all set. You might even be lucky and find a whole silver bumper at the JY.

Couple of things to check - is the sunroof actually working, what suspension is in the rear (SLS or not), and don't haggle too much on the price, someone will snatch it under you. Here is a little secret for you - it's not green... as in oxford green.

Oh, and please if you are going to buy this car - tell the owner it's not a V6!

And while you are pondering on the idea tonight, should I buy this E34 - just think of the engine swaps you can do and how nicely you can modify this gem.

Now to the long weekend!

I am suddenly acquiring a new car from a family member and unfortunately must sell my beloved BMW station wagon to make up for the cost of the repairs I just had on it.I have owned this car for almost three years and it has been great for me. I love the sound of the V6 engine and the car is very open and spacious for moving large items or many items. There is also a nice sunroof.I haven't had many issues with the car besides having to replace the AC compressor and ignition switch soon after I received the car. This past week I replaced the belts, power steering pump, radiator hose, had a fuse fixed that goes to the rear lights, and had it inspected for $1300. I also had an oil change within the past few months. Three of the tires are brand new (within last month at Discount Tire) and the other tire's tread is still fine.My car also has a brand new stereo with AUX and USB ports. The interior is in pretty good condition and there is only one minor tear in the leather (on the driver's seat). *Note: The compartment that isn't shut all the way in the photo does shut, I just didn't have the jack and other tire accessories in there properly when I snapped the photos today.
Issues:-I hit a pole with the front end while backing out of a parking garage so there is some damage due to that (picture attached). -Someone stole the BMW emblems off 3 of my rims. These can be found online for about $7 a piece-The speedometer hasn't worked since the original owner had it (my uncle purchased the car from its original owner in Chicago). The other gauges work just fine.
I am going to remove the stickers and clean the car up some more. I need to secure the back of the drivers seat paneling as well as a little leather panel on the drivers side door but that will be fixed by the time you purchase the car.
Please do not hesitate to e-mail me with any questions you might have. I'm very fast with responding.

1986 BMW 535i/5 speed Silver/Black

After all this blog is about finds that are worth your time and investment. I believe this is one of them.

Below is a nice 1986 E28 M30B34 with a 5 speed manual transmission. The issues this car has are very minimal and could easily be addressed if you are a hands on person with DIY attitude. Need help on anything, check out http://www.mye28.com

The odometer gears can be fixed cheaply and will only take about 30 minutes of your time.

The non working temp gauge could be caused by a couple of issues. Make a run to the local pick-n-pull and find a new cluster (~$30) or check the sender unit. You will need a voltmeter for that, and a bentley manual.

Sell these wheels on the pictures for 200 bucks and get some of your money back. Run it on the original ones.

The AC has already been converted to R134-a, work your way to getting a new compressor.

Who needs rear windows to roll down anyways, this is a budget project.

1986 BMW 535i Manual in Bronzitbeige MetallicApproximately 145xxx miles on the vehicle. Odometer stopped working at 139xxx along with the speedometer. When the speedometer works the odometer will count with it.

I will also include a $200 leather cleaning and redye kit from Leatherique Restoration Products.Front passenger door panel missing door handle trim (pictured in album)Bottom of driver door panel cracked (pictured in album)
Exterior looks relatively decent from 20ft. Metallic paint still has shine to it.Visible rust on the front passenger door, rust bubbles on sunroof and rust around license plate. (pictured in album)Rust on front driver side strut tower (pictured in album)
Immediate Needs:Temp gauge is not giving a reading. Never had issues with the vehicle overheating in the past but it still needs to be replaced.Current tires on the vehicle are old and likely dry rotted. Original rims (bottle cap style) with 1 brand new tire and the other 3 85% tread will be included

Other issues:Trunk is stuck shutMuffler is nonexistentE-brake will not engageRear driver side window does not roll downNo A/C. Compressor is no good. System has already been retrofitted to R-134a

1983 BMW 533i Black/Tan

Just like the E34 chassis, the E28 is very dear to my heart. As a matter of fact an '83 533i 5 speed was my first E28. Here is a nice solid M30 powered schwarz 533i. Not sure if manual or automatic. These are the perfect Daily Driver candidate. With just a little bit of elbow grease, this old gem can shine again. I will let you work on the price.

History lesson: "A North American only model sold from 1983 to 1984 in limited quantities in response to customer complaints that the 528e had lower performance figures than the 1981 528i that it replaced. Equipped with a 181 hp (135 kW) 3.2 L M30 6-cylinder engine as fitted to the larger 633csi and 733i, it produced 195 lb·ft (264 N·m). torque. The compression ratio was 8.8:1. Top Speed was 134 mph (manual). The 533i was the fastest sedan sold in the USA in 1983." via Wiki E28

1991 bmw m5 e34. Sterling silver metallic with dove Grey leather interior. Rare early production model (2/1990) with rear bucket seats. Getrag 280 5 speed manual gearbox s38b36 3.6 litre dohc in line 6 with individual throttle bodies Dinan chipped with straight exhaust. This is a wonderful car great for fast interstate use or bombing back roads. One of the best and most reliable BMWs made and the last of the hand built cars. Well maintained with Mobil 1 and red line fluids. This car currently has 229000 well loved miles and is my daily driver so mileage will go up. No major problems but does have some cosmetic concerns and other small problems common to a car of this age and mileage including some scratches chips and dings some leather separation in the interior etc... Please call with any questions. No emails no spam. Thank you. Price is negotiable.

1991 E34 BMW M5 Silver

Alright, let's see how this works. First post on this blog will be about something I know very well - BMWs. E34s. M5s. No affiliation.

Changing priorities forcing me to sell. Looking to buy a business soon and need some more cash plus a reliable daily driver since wife's car is coming off lease soon.1991 M5, Sterling Silver over Light Silver-gray leather. Heated Seats. 175K miles.
Here's the good:
S38 in excellent running condition. Does not burn or leak any significant amount of oil.Gearbox is tight and smooth - no grinding, no pop-outs, synchros work perfectly.
IN the last 3 months, the following has been done:Valve adjustmentRefinished camshaft cover and plenumNew seals, o-rings, and gaskets for entire induction systemThrottle bodies disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, and synchronized.New throttle cable and cruise control cable.New accelerator pedal bushings and spring.New plugs, cap, rotor (wires were less than a year old).Every hose in the cooling system has been replaced.New thermostat and o-ringsNew water pumpNew auxiliary water pumpNew heater valvesRebuilt AlternatorUUC Evo3 short shifter and DSSRNew leather knob with backlit ///M stripe patternre finished leather seats with SEM Classic Coat (front seats have cracking but this refinishing made them presentable again). Will eventually need reupholstery.refinished door panels, used 3M Di-Noc ebony woodgrain vinyl over original wood grain (could be removed easily if desired).New thrust armsNew Sigla (OEM) windshield and trimsWindow tint with lifetime warranty - Formula one tint, high end stuff.Rear view mirror with compass, Homelink, and auto-dimming.Fresh brake fluid / system bledcaliper slides cleaned

Car has Racing Dynamics sway bars, SLS delete (Dinan stage 1 kit, I think).Dinan chip
Throwing star wheels with good tires all around. Wheels have some scuffs/rash but are straight.Sunroof and all windows/locks work properly.
Paint is overall very presentable, but I think it was a medium-quality job, not show quality by any means. A few chips and things here and there but still shines well.
